Mount Park Guest Farm

Welcome to Upper Dargle Midlands.

Country wide, our visitors have experienced our ' Country Hospitality'
' Olde worlde ' delight, and ' Pristine ' natural surroundings.

Mount Park Guest Farm is situated in the beautiful Dargle region of Kwazulu Natal Midlands at the foot of the Inhlosane Mountain. The diverse combination of grassland, indigenous forest and wetlands provides habitats for a large variety of bird species such as Cape parrots, Wattle Cranes, Knysna Louire and many more.

Mount Park Guest Farm was originally owned by the Speir family. In the early days (1890's) the farm reared cattle, sheep and horses. It also had a saw mill. 

Purchased by the Field family in the early 90's, the 344 hectare farm is a beef farm as well as offering facilities for guests. 40 of these hectares is made up of natural forest, where one of the inhabitants is the rare Tree Hyrax. You may be lucky to hear its distinctive call at night. The balance is made up by the mountains, a large natural vlei and some timber and grasslands.

Walks on the farm include Logger's trail, Hyrax trail, Lourie's flight, Porcupine crawl and Leopard's leap. 

Accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis or bed & breakfast , in well appointed cottages, cabins and a century old farmhouse. Simple catering is offered in the Bull & Speir on request.

 

Main House

Well appointed Main House equipped for upto 20 guests. 1 lounge with fireplace, sunroom,  diningroom. 8 bedrooms, all supplied with linen and towels and three bathrooms (2 baths & shower). The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, fridges, deep freezes, stove and microwave. There is a braai area as well. DSTV - bring your own card.

Yellowwood Cabin

Yellowood Cabin has a bedroom with a double bed and bunks, a lounge with a fireplace and sleeper couch, a fully equipped  combined kitchen/ dinning area with fridge and stove.  It has a shower and there is a braai area outside.

Rose Cottage

Quaint and private, ideal for a couple. Well appointed with a fireplace in both lounge and bedroom. The bedroom has a double bed.The kitchen has a stove, fridge with deep freeze, all crockery and cutlery are provided. There is a shower, handbasin and toilet as well as a braai area on a private patio. There is a sleeper couch in the lounge.

Cabins

2 open-plan en-suite (shower) wooden cabins situated right on the edge of the forest stream
- Self catering (mini kitchen)
- Fully equipped 
- each with 2 beds and a double sleeper couch

Caravan Site


Six grassed caravan sites with braai, four with electrical points and there is also a caravan available on site, sleeping 2 .

The Bull & Speir

Simple meals can be served on request.

Dry pub, DSTV available on request for sport fans.
